This Sargent Juniper bonsai is 87 years old. There was another cypress bonsai that was 167 years. Amazing!

It was for the Edible Austin’s 3rd Annual Eat Local Week. The Hilton downtown and Finn & Porter co-hosted along with Lori. I think I was more excited about shooting the food than I was eating it – but I did both!

Not only was everything good to look at it was also delicious.

This husband and wife team will be launching their business, WholeNine, this Sunday and we wanted to help spread the word.

Some information about what WholeNine is and what it can do for you from Chance:

“The idea for WholeNine Lifestyle Management came about one afternoon as my wife and I were running errands together for what seemed like the first time in years. With myself working over 60 hours a week, and my wife Claire trying to stay on top of the household duties, we often found ourselves wishing for extra hands to complete our never-ending to-do list and more time to spend with each other. James and I will be there, covering the event for them. We will also have a PhotoBooth set up for some fun photos of their guests. A new option we’ll offer in 2010 for weddings (more to come on that)!

You’ll also want to be sure to get in on the raffles. A portion of the proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Movember (raising awareness for men’s cancer through mustache growing). The people at Movember are doing a good thing and we are proud to do what we can to support them. Up for grabs will be Obee’s Deli combos, a handmade scarf from Etsy seller Jen’s Whims, 2 hours of service from WholeNine and a 1 hour session with VP!

Of bridal portraits? Before the wedding? Have we lost it?! Don’t worry Shawna, I am only teasing!

As much as I would love to show you all the beautiful images from our Saturday bridal session at Laguna Gloria, you’ll have to wait. Shawna and Eddie aren’t tying the knot until August 22 so they have to stay top secret. I am very pleased (actually I am super excited!!) with the images from the session and had a hard time narrowing down the best of the best from about 300 images. Shawna makes a beautiful bride, Eddie is one lucky guy and I can’t wait for their wedding day!

No post is complete here on VP without a few pictures so instead of bridal portraits of Shawna you get serious but silly test shots we took while waiting.

We had such a great time with Allison and James and they were totally up for trying anything we suggested. We didn’t have the blue skies we hoped to have but the scenery was fabulous nevertheless.

We started off climbing to a look out over Lake Austin and the 360 bridge. We didn’t know until we were leaving the lookout that Allison is a bit leery of heights but she was a trooper. The view from up there was amazing!

They also brought along their new puppy, Macy who is one of the best behaved puppies I’ve ever met. Such a sweetie too and did well posing for the pictures.

Our next stop was a grassy area down below the bridge that also afforded us an awesome building to add in those architectural details we love.

While James was occupied with some final shots of Allison and James I was busy getting some ring shots. We were in a spot that was pretty boring except for the view so I had to get creative. I turned around and saw the handicap sign behind me and immediately got excited about these next two images. I love the detail shots and am really stoked with how these came out!
